Cranberriesitalia Loves Limerick

La community di CranberriesItalia e tutti i fan dei Cranberries e di Dolores O'Riordan danno vita ad un bellissimo progetto di collaborazione con una importante realtà sociale di Limerick in ricordo della cantante irlandese scomparsa lo scorso mese di Gennaio.




E proprio l'hashtag scelto #italialoveslimerick sancisce uno stretto legame che si vuole instaurare con il Learning Hub della città natale dei Cranberries, quella stessa città che li ha visti emergere come una delle rock band più importanti del panorama musicale non solo irlandese.



Dal prossimo 17 Marzo 2018 parte una raccolta fondi, attraverso la piattaforma internet Produzioni Dal Basso, che ci permetterà di raccogliere una somma di denaro che sarà interamente devoluta al Learning Hub Limerick per finanziare progetti di musica rivolti soprattutto ai ragazzi di Limerick, quei giovani che per svariati motivi, fra cui svantaggio educativo ed abbandono scolastico, non hanno le opportunità per poter studiare musica privatamente.
Saranno dedicati a loro seminari e workshop durante i quali i volontari del centro, artisti e musicisti locali professionisti insegneranno come scrivere testi di canzoni, approcciarsi ai vari strumenti musicali, agli arrangiamenti dei brani. Il tutto con la finalità di dare a molti di loro l'opportunità di avere un futuro come cantanti e musicisti... nel ricordo di un'artista come Dolores che, in tutto il mondo, ha incantato ed ispirato con la sua voce, la sua musica e i suoi testi tante persone.



La raccolta fondi terminerà nel mese di Giugno e la prima settimana di Luglio saremo proprio noi di CranberriesItalia a presenziare a Limerick il via al progetto. Per tutta la successiva estate, il Learning Hub si animerà di tanti nuovi talenti, bambini e ragazzi che potranno, attraverso la musica e le canzoni, esprimere i loro sentimenti, la loro vitalità e magari ritrovarsi insieme ad altri coetanei, per fondare nuovi gruppi musicali. Un giorno potrebbero avere lo stesso successo dei Cranberries!



Sarà questo il passo che salderà in maniera importante la stretta collaborazione che si è creata in questo periodo con Jennifer, James e Giuseppe, collaboratori di Learning Hub Limerick, che fin dall'inizio ci hanno accolto in maniera davvero entusiasmante, con un'energia davvero travolgente che ci ha fortemente appassionato e che speriamo possa coinvolgere anche tanti amici e fan dei Cranberries e di Dolores, non soltanto in Italia.

CranberriesItalia Community and all the fans of The Cranberries and Dolores O'Riordan in Italy are thrilled to announce a beautiful collaborative project with a music education project in Limerick City. This project will honour the memory of Dolores O'Riordan in her native city and celebrate her ability to connect people from different parts of the world through her music.
The chosen hashtag #cranberriesitalialoveslimerick states the strong link we want to establish with the Learning Hub Music education programmes, based in the Cranberries' native city Limerick. From Limerick the band went on to become one of the most important international rock bands Ireland has ever produced. From the 17th of March 2018 a fundraising campaign will start, through the internet platform Produzioni Dal Basso. This will allow us to collect funds which will be donated, in full, to Learning Hub Limerick.
The funds will be used to support music projects targeting young people in Limerick who may struggle to access music tuition and music education experiences.
There will be seminars and workshops, during which the volunteers of the centre, professional local artists and musicians will teach song writing, introduction to various musical instruments and performance techniques. This project aims to honour the memory of Dolores O'Riordan, a singer whose voice enchanted and inspired many throughout the world, by offering young people the opportunity to experience what it might be like to have a future as a singer, songwriter or musician.
The fundraising will end in the month of June and on the first week of July we, the representatives of CranberriesItalia, will be present in Limerick to visit the music workshops and to celebrate the heartfelt connection between the CranberriesItalia and Limerick City. During the summer, the Learning Hub will offer workshops allowing young people the opportunity explore new talents and to express themselves through the medium of music and songwriting. Maybe they will meet new band mates or be inspired by each other to imagine themselves as the next Cranberries!
This project will also progress a close collaboration that has emerged in this development period with Jennifer, James and Giuseppe, our partners in Learning Hub Limerick, who, since the beginning, welcomed us in a really enthusiastic way, with an overwhelming energy that really engaged us and we hope will also engage many friends and fans of The Cranberries and Dolores, not only in Italy.

We hope that his project will represent a powerful homage to Dolores, through music that was a milestone of her life, but also to her home city, which in these last months, showed her its deep love and affection.
